Are insider buys more important than insider sells?
Usually, yes.
Insider purchases are generally viewed as more informative than insider sales because a purchase usually involves an insider committing fresh capital to their own company. A sale, by contrast, may happen for many reasons unrelated to the company’s prospects, including diversification, liquidity, or tax planning.
That does not mean every insider buy is significant or every insider sale should be ignored. It means that, all else equal, open-market purchases tend to be the clearer signal of conviction.
